The actor who loves creating waves in sarees style is in love with label Gaurang. The established and award winning designer who is known for his intricated jamdani handwovern creations, created a traditional kanjeevaram saree with a lion design in 20 inches gold border for Vidya Balan for her recent jewelery store opening show in Kerala.
“When I met her for the first time, I was awed by her simplicity and understanding of saris. Gaurang said after meeting the versatile actor “She loves to wear kanjeevaram saris and carries them off with such ease and pomp. She`s talented, smart and down-to-earth and excels in making style statement especially saris.”
Designer Gaurang popularity is on the rise ever since he began to impress the fashion circuit with his twist to traditional saris and dresses with a whole new approach by bringing new vibrant colors and textures to saris and dress using the age old jamdani weaving technique. He also made the otherwise stiff kanjeevarams more wearable by weaving them differently. His consumers now find them more smoother and softer than ever.
The self taught designer’s simplicity and approach to traditional weaves reflects in the saris and dresses he designs — a big reason why his creations now attracts Bollywood favorite actresses like of Sonam Kapoor, Chitrangada Singh, Priya Mani, Taapsee Pannu, Sonali Bendre, Kiron Kher and other leading well known socialist and industrialists.

Whether it’s the effervescent girl next door in the hearty tale Parineeta or a smoking siren from The Dirty Picture, the leading lady of Bollywood, Vidya Balan, has managed to make a mark with her sensual Indian attires everywhere.
Known for carrying the tradition of the six yards of elegance with a smouldering touch and finesse, she has been quite a trendsetter when it comes to sporting sarees and churidar Kurtas for different events (even Red Carpet). In awe of her ravishing and sensuous look, here are your styling tips to acquire Vidya’s look sans any over indulgence.
Sizzling Siren look
Vidya manages to look glamorous and uber sexy in this skin hugging drape and a matching blouse in black and golden with a low neckline to enhance the cleavage.
Opt for Vidya’s look by pairing a heavy work sari with a contemporary blouse that ups the sex quotient. You may try a choli with a tie up back or even a single shoulder plain blouse in gold and other jewel tones for a bling effect.
Embodying Eternal Grace
Her style here is synonymous with the Indian diva image, with a refined look that can set hearts aflutter. The excellent contrast of red and green in her attire adds radiance to her persona.
Keep it simple with muted tones contrasting each other, for the sari and the blouse. Opt for pastels during day and loud vibrant shades for evening wear. Add some irresistible charm with soft curls and let loose your mane.
Refrain from overdoing by adding chunky pieces of jewellery, instead stick to minimalistic statement earrings or a cocktail ring.
Girl Next Door Charm
Vidya emphasises on the soft look with a pastel pink in a draped fabric. The silver trimming prevent it from going drab, adding some zing to the outfit and the jewel tone sandals accentuate the overall style.
Suits with Churidars can instantly make your frame look taller. Opt for plain bottoms with an embellished Kurtas in A line design, Anarkali pattern or am empire line shape. Shades like turquoise, sea green, wine, olive and even rust can make your skin glow. Match your footwear with the dress but keep it subtle to draw maximum attention to the outfit.
