Gorgeous Second Day of BFW – 5th Edition

The second day of Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week (BFW) had a spectacular start with brilliant designers’ collection. Celebrity show stoppers like Kanishtha Dhankar, Reshmi Ghosh and Shibani Kashyap added more glam to the event.

The second day of BFW 5th Edition, winter / Festive season kick started with the handsome collection for men. Uzair Parvez’s collection had very stylish body fitting jackets, slim fit trousers, shiny cut pants, slim fit shirts, suits etc. It had all peppy shades well meant for men, like beige, microfiber beige, shiny grey, variations of brown etc. Uzair’s collection showcased a mixture of soft and neutral colours.

The second collection was meant only for the young and beautiful Indian women. Chaitali Biplab had very Indian festive collection. It had a mixture of salwar -Kameezs, Gagra cholis, saris, dresses, sloshy pants etc. Beautiful zardosi work and stone works added to the elegance of salwar – kameezs, Gagra cholis and saris. The blouses were indo-western adding to the chic appeal of any woman. Dresses and the sloshy pants with golden embroidery waste bands were the highlight. Chaitali’s collection had a mixture of shades like blue, variations of pink, brown, red, black etc.

Shruti Dudani showcased her winter/festive collection exclusively for women. T6his collection had the dominance of shades of peacock green and blue. Other colours like beige, brown, white, pink etc too were there. The collection displayed salwar – kameezs, gagra cholis, dresses etc. Adding to the style of the clothes they had heavy stone, zardosi and embroidery works on them.

Next line of collection was from Shruti Shah on the 5th edition of BFW. The collection named ‘The Indian seductress’ is inspired from the beautiful Indian women. Shruti’s collection had shades of beige, dark red, brown, variations of pink, golden etc. It had very chic Indian dresses including Lehangas with golden corest, gowns, saris etc. The specialty of her collection was she had accompanied gold and antique mix embroidery in her clothing line. Fabrics like georgette, chiffon, net, velvet etc played the magic of enhancing the beauty. The Show stopper, Kanishtha Dhankar, 2011 Femina Miss. India World, walked down the ramp in a beautiful red strapless gown made in the shades of wine with pleated satin. Kanishtha said, “I really loved walking in this beautiful gown. I felt very 6feminine and stylish.”

Devipriya Guha displayed her collection for both men and women in Blenders Pride BFW 2011, 5th edition. She said that her collection is inspired from the song, ‘November Rains’ by Guns and Roses. Devipriya pepped – up the ramp with very feminine and chic collection of frilly frocks, dresses, gowns etc Shades of yellow, red, off – white, burgundy, pink etc were dominant. The best part of the collection was she had accompanied it with very modish and girlish umbrellas. Women clothing line had a lot of floral hangings. Her clothing line for men had very shiny shades of grey and brown jackets and trousers. The former Miss. India Reshmi Ghosh, wore a beautiful Pink dress with a cute pink umbrella and walked down the ramp. Rashmi said, “I always wanted to walk for Devi and now the day came. She is the one designer who makes any lady look elegant and cute.”

The 6th collection was put together by a young desifgner, Rahul. His collection called Signs of Sea, inspired by the natural calamities due to the global warming had shades of white, blue, yellow, green etc. The collection had the dominance of the colours white and blue. He displayed dresses, gowns, high waist pants, tops etc. Fabrics like silk, georgette, chiffon were used extensively. He had the amazing free flowing cuts symbolizing different moods of sea.

Jattinn Kochhar, showcased the final collection for women in BFW 5th edition. He displayed the elegance of gowns, westernized Churidars, dresses etc in black and white. Jattinn said that a woman can look her best in these colours. Knit fabrics were used widely. His western collection was purely for those evening party metro crowd. The famous Bollywood singer, Shibani Kashyap walked the ramp in an elegant white dress.

The second day of BFW 5th Edition ended successfully with the after party. BFW is paving the way for many young and established designers to showcase their collection to the Bangalore fashionistas and thereby promotes Bangalore to grow as a fashion hub.

Lively Day Three Of BFW – 2011

The third day of Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week had a fabulous start with budding as well as some established designers. Having celebrity show – stoppers like Mona Singh, Priya Mani, Mahima Chaudhary and Sarah Jane, the event was taken to the heights of spectacular entertainment.

The third day opened with the shows of Meera, Rohit and Rupa G.
Meera Aggarwal and Rohit Aggarwal showcased their clothing line that had 16 outfits. Their theme, Indian Ethnic Wear was done in an honour to the Indian craftsmen who have been dedicatedly working and producing rich fabric and flashy embellishments. The collection had various trappings and embellishments like mirror works, gota, kundan stones and zardosi. Meera said that the inspiration behind this collection is the dying art of our country. She added that they work on fabrics like ‘baagh’ which was available hundred years ago.

Rupa. G showcased her collection through the theme, ‘Wonders of Dulhagarh’. Dulhagarh is a small village in West Bengal. It is known for its craftsmanship and conventional hand embroideries. Her clothing line had salwaar – kameezs and lehangas. She carefully picked shades of pink and green, mustard and fuchsia on fabrics like brocade, chiffon, chanderi and net.

The next show was a double show with Soham Chakraboty’s and Arka Mirgank’s collection.
Soham Chakraborty conveyed his collection to the audience using the theme ‘Escape’. He said that the theme has been inspired from the Mother Nature. He displayed a very semi- casual resort wear collection for both men and women. He used a lot of floral prints and contrast combination of colours, green, orange, blue, red etc. His clothing line had, linen tops, printed linen trousers, cotton summer jackets etc.

Arka Mrigank, presented his collection in Bangalore Fashion Week (BFW) with the theme called ‘Notebook’. His collection had very unique ensembles. He used ‘maang tikas’ which were made out of stencils. He says that his designs are inspired from the day – today life aspects. Through his designs he showcases that fashion is a day – today affair and not something to be treated as bizarre. He added, “My designs are filled with young spirits. I make collection keeping today’s trends in mind.”

Swapnil Shinde, the designer always surprises his audience with his wonderful collection. Swapnil’s collection had gowns and dresses with different drapes. The best part of his collection was, he had adorned his collection with beautiful and unique huge red roses. He said that his collection was inspired from the craftsmanship of Maharastra. He used fabrics like georgette and chiffon.
Mona singh, famous television actress, who made the role of ‘jassi’ memorable in the serial ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’, was his show-stopper. Mona said that she loved Swapnil’s design. She said, “Swapnil is the one designer who can make any woman look slim and beautiful.” She also added, “Though it was after a long time I walked the ramp, Achala Sachdev made me walk the ramp so easily with her amazing choreography.”

Ramesh Dembla, the one who is known for surprising Bangalore with his designs as well as show stoppers did the magic this time too. He displayed his collection titled ‘Divine Rhapsody’ to his BFW audience which had 34 amazing bridal and ethnic wear outfits, both for men and women. He said that the inspiration to bring this collection was the elegant and loved metal, Gold.
Priya Mani, the sensation of South Cinema walked the ramp for him. She said, “I feel absolutely great in this outfit. It is quite stylish and chic and I am sure every lady would want to flaunt it.”

Designer, Pria Kataaria Puri, showcased unique and amazing collection of resort wear. Her outfits comprised of kaftans, tunics, dresses and gowns. She used Italian fabrics and light weight silk. The colours she used in her collection really took the audience to a fairy land. Shades of white, red, green, blue etc did the magic.
Former model and Bollywood actress, Mahima Chaudhary walked the ramp for her. She flaunted a lovely and graceful black sari.

The wrapping up of the day was done by the well – known designers, Mona and Pali. They are known for their brand – Monapali. For the first time in BFW they showcased 30 outfits. Their clothing line comprised of resort wear, party wears and cocktail. It had outfits like, kaftans, saris and jackets. The clothes were embellished with stone and bead works, which were done with hand embroidery.
Former Miss. India and Bollywood actress, Sarah Jane, walked the ramp for ‘Monapali’.

The third day ended with a massive after hour party. As we are nearing the finale that is on 6th of February, wait and watch for Nita Lulla to give Bangalore a splendid fashion extravaganza.

Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week Day 3 Photographs

Day 3 of Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week was exciting with big designers like Ramesh Dembla, Swapnil Shinde, Pria Kataaria Puri and Monapali showcasing their latest collection. The other designer who showcased their collection are Meera Rohit, Rupa G, Soham Chakraborty, Arka & Ruchi.

The Celebrities who walked the ramp are mahima choudhary for Pria Kataaria Puri, Priya Mani for Ramesh Dembla and Mona Singh for Swapnil Shinde.

Designer For BFW 2011 – Riyaz Gangji

Bangalore Fashion Week – 2011 witnessed amazing Indo – western collection, from the designer Riyaz Gangji. His label name Libas’s One specialty is that, his collection is more of Jain clothing, because though he uses eco – friendly fabrics, he doesn’t use silk in his collection, as he is against killing silk worms. Hence his collection has a majority of khadi in them.

For Bangalore Fashion Week (BFW) 2011 he had beautiful designs of indo – western, as the Indian market is for such designs. He amazingly presented them with stunning stone, zari and embroidery work. His designs surely accentuated a woman’s beauty in a very flashy way. Also men clothing were done in a way to enhance their looks. He believes in bringing the bling to enhance the beauty.
