Soy or Soya (as it is popularly known as) is one of the healthiest food items ever. Derived from the soya bean it is available in several forms such as soya granules, soya chunks, soya milk and even the new age soy cheese called tofu.

With a high protein content it undoubtedly a health booster and is recommended to people of all ages, albeit any allergies with the same. In addition, the recent studies by nutrition experts also recommend soya products to be consumed on a regular basis by dieters. It is claimed that these help in weight management by encouraging weight loss.

By replacing soya products with other food items, the calorie intake is automatically reduced as soy and its products have negligible calories. These also reduce the glucose intake in the body besides improving the heart health. One of the issues of the magazine Obesity Reviews also claimed that the biggest advantage of using soya products to induce weight loss is that it discourages bone mass and leads only to fat loss.
