Clothing [men] for the Rainy Days

Sitting with a steaming cup of coffee and enjoying the rain is everyone’s fantasy. However, the annoying part is the clothes. The puddle, drench and the mud is enough to make our clothes get ruined in the deluge. Though it can get bothersome, the idea is to make them stylish and exciting in order to look good.

Jacket for raining seasonPure cotton works best during the rainy days as they dry quite. If not for pure cotton, go for cotton blends such as poly cotton. Wear fabrics that repel water. You sure don’t want to get your more trendy pieces soiled by the rain and the town jetsam.

Stay away from knitted clothes. Knitted fabrics absorb the moisture from the atmosphere and can leave a disgusting odor. There are numerous wrinkle –free blends in the market. Go for them if you want to your clothes to stay wrinkle-free. This is especially true during important official meetings.

The hem of your trousers or jeans should fall at the right place. The best length is the one that ends at your ankles. The reason being, even if your trousers or jeans are wet they will not hang down or sag, making a mess of the whole thing. And not to forget, you can use this season to experiment with some crazy clothes under the pretext of practicality. A trendy lightweight jacket can be teamed with denims or trousers. This not only gives you the needed protection against the chill weather but also adds to the formal-casual look, offering the dual function.

A knee length raincoat can be the most important wardrobe essential during the rainy days. Rather than a low-priced plastic stuff, opt for a well tailored one. The market is flooded with fashionable and long- lasting raincoats which are definitely a great one time investment. After all, what you wear on the outside is not just a fashion item but a necessity during the rains. Opt for colors that disguise the rain. Earthy tones look fresh and do not reveal the dampness. The ideal raincoat is not only durable but you will also be able to adjust the fit as they have built in pull strings. The pull strings ensure that the raincoat fits you well without you appearing wrapped up and bulky.

Boots for rainy seasonAs for footwear, opt for multipurpose shoes that consist of a rubber PVC sole or a pair that can be teamed with everything. Wearing boots is basically a great idea for the rainy days. There are various boot styles and designs to suit every individual’s taste and comfort. For instance, there are slip-in boots. You can wear this on top of your precious leather shoes while commuting and remove them when you get to the office.”

It’s best to invest in a good water resistant bag to carry your priced gadgets and essential documents. Assure you have an umbrella handy as it is the most modish essential in your wardrobe against the rains.

Finally, make sure that you rummage through your wardrobe and dig out bright colors. Rainy days are known for its gloominess and you sure don’t want the climate to bog you down. Do remember, bright clothes will lift your dampened spirits. But a word of caution, though ladies can get away with bright colors, men need to be extra careful in presenting a classy overall look –especially to office. But, it’s definitely not tough!

The boots shown in the post are motorcycle riding boots from Sidi and they are not to be worn over or rather can’t be worn over any other shoe.. People who don’t ride bikes won’t find these boots of any use in their daily life..
