Bags And More

The famous phrase by Emo Philips’ I ran three miles today. Finally I said, “Lady take your purse”, truly exemplifies a woman’s affinity to her hand bag. It is often said that women carry their entire world into their purses and this justifies itself as a reason enough for women to be particular in their choice of handbags or purses.

Often mistaken as an accessory, a handbag is actually much more than that. Besides being used as accompaniment to an outfit it also stocks utility items, cosmetics and a great deal of items. Style is considered to be unique with every person and so is the choice of bags for females. Since time immemorial there have been a wide range of handbags carved by the likes of legendary designers such as Louis Vuitton and Fendi, that make women skip a breath and at the same time, there are faux leather and knitted bags at our very own flea markets that make their way to our daily wardrobes.

Recent trends have witnessed a sea change in the patterns and styles of handbags, ranging from animal prints to bug chunky straps and even satin and pearl laced clutches. The purpose is to design a bag for every occasion. The retro styles of neon and polka doted bags are long taken over by sultry and feminine totes that are multipurpose and can be carried for both formal and informal dos.

Famous Trend blogger Amanda Lull predicts that the faux tail bags by Gucci and Marc Jacobs will be the next item to sweat for this fall. If street smart and pocket friendly is your choice of words, indulge in affordable dark coloured totes from brands like Baggit or Hidesign. To grace a formal event, stick to a string pearl or shimmer clutch that accentuates the glam appeal of even the dullest of attires.
