Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week Day 4 – MANDIRA WIRK

With clients in Europe and South East Asia, Mandira Wirk’s designs are the favourite of a global clientele. Her beautiful creations, which had the most amazing cuts, dazzling embroidery and western bridal touches, were the mainstay of her collection at Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2012.

Inspired by the English bride, Mandira worked her creative magic on the garments as she unleashed a gorgeous collection of ethereal gowns and minis that floated down the ramp for the brides and the bride’s maids.

Working on a pastel colour palette with the most beautiful shades like pale pink, blue, ivory, shaded purple, lavender and ice green, the look was what a bride dreams of all her life.

Opening the show with a fully encrusted bodice for a net and chiffon fish tail gown; the presentation moved to a jumpsuit in pale pink satin with a ruffled net neckline; while the turquoise chiffon gown with the sexy high slit moved onto the catwalk to create the mood for the show.

The crimped pale green pleated bodice for the gown was edged with a feathered shoulder detailing and the shaded purple tiered ruffled halter had enticing crystal embroidery at low back. 3D flowers bloomed on plunge necklines and the veiled beauty in pale blue tissue was enchanting.

Malaika Arora Khan For Mandira Wirk

Silver lamé was a favourite with Mandira as she edged it with cutwork for a shimmering bodice gown; while the frothy organza layered mini with a satin embroidered wrap gave a cute touch to bridal couture.

Silhouettes were fluid and flowing mixed with the fit and flare story at all times, as drop waists gave a great shape to the moulded ensembles. But it was the scooped hemlines and thigh high slits on skirts that gave a seductive touch to bridal wear. Truly eye-catching was the embroidered mini in pale pink with a tulle train, one- shoulder interest and the silver lamé front draped backless gown with ornate shoulder shrug.

Cutwork, placement embroidery which favoured the bodice and appliqués appeared for the hemlines or covered the creations as they glided down in fluid fabrics like tulle, chiffon, satin, organza and lace.

Ending the show was the very sultry Malaika Arora Khan who sashayed down the ramp in a white net/lace one- shoulder gown with a magnificent tulle trail. The whole ensemble was appliquéd with the most beautiful 3D tonal flowers and shimmering embroidery.

Bridal wear took a truly fashionable and feminine turn when it was presented in a fragile and delicate manner by Mandira Wirk for women who want to walk fashionably down the aisle when they say “I Do”.
