2011 Fashion Goes Green

Experts from fashion industry said that the year 2011 will witness the scenario of fashion industry going green. Eco fashion will be the concentration of all fashion holics. eco-fashionThey added that the motive behind promoting eco fashion is to have a system that can support the environment and health of the people, who use them as well as employees of fashion industry.

The highlights of eco friendly clothing :

  • They are made of natural fabrics like wool, cotton, linen, jute, bamboo etc which are grown without pesticides.
  • These fabrics’ level of moisture absorbency will be higher in comparison to conventional fabrics.
  • In comparison to conventional fabrics, eco friendly fabrics last long.
  • Eco fashion does not promote the use of harmful bleaches and chemicals or artificial dyes to colour the fabric.

Anurag, a fashion designing student said, “ Considering the availability of eco friendly fabrics in India the fabrics for 2011 would be jute, organic cotton, linen, bamboo etc.”

He also added that although eco friendly clothing are expensive compared to conventional clothing, the comfort and the durability of these clothing are unbeatable.
